Autumn Leaf  Pendant Lamp  #ambiental light
Craftsman: Emil Căldărar
Material: Copper
Manufacturer: MBQ
Year: 2016
Handmade from hammered copper by Roma coppersmiths in a Transylvanian village, Autumn Leaf is a quiet, poetic lighting object that lives between function and ritual.
The lamp is composed of two pairs of copper “leaves.” In each pair, one leaf is fixed and treated to resist oxidation, while the other is detachable and left raw — allowed to age, darken, and slowly detach.. Like an autumn leaf, it eventually falls, transforming into a small copper bowl.
Light, and time complete the object.
A lamp that accepts change, and turns it into use.
A copper poem
Fire in a capsule
of partner leaves,
holding together
the light
before and after
parting,
for one to become
a fallen leaf:
an offering,
an accomplished leaf,
holding your olives,
and nuts and tangerines.
Its textured skin invites
touch and wonder,
a symphony
of imperfection
playing in the light,
aged to perfection,
glowing with the wisdom
of years gone by.
Warm hues of sunset
captured in copper,
a dance of light and shadow,
the surface ripples
like a gentle stream,
suffusing heart and mind.
